A tree frog with an unusual spiky nose that was discovered in New Guinea in 2008 has been identified as a new species -- Litoria pinocchio -- in Zootaxa. "What is particularly striking is that it is erectile," said study author Paul Oliver, who added that the strange nose "must have some purpose."
