Ancient footprints found in New Mexico offer a glimpse at how the paths of humans and massive creatures may have crossed about 10,000 years ago during the Pleistocene. The footprints, described in Quaternary Science Reviews, suggest a human may have carried a child and put it down at several points along the edge of what was once Lake Otero while creatures, possibly mammoths or mastodons, crossed the same path, and that a giant ground sloth also walked there.
