University of Florida researcher Catherine Flores has been awarded a $2.5 million grant from the NIH and a $250,000 grant from the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation to study immunotherapy treatments for pediatric brain tumors. Flores' team will continue researching the role bone marrow stem cells might play in bolstering immune cells to fight malignant tumors.
