Researchers have traced the ancestry of modern sled dogs back almost 10,000 years to the last ice age, according to findings published in Science. "Arctic people and Arctic dogs go back over 9,500 years together and ... the tradition of sledding, still around today, uses the same group of dogs," said study author Mikkel-Holder Sinding.
