A new species of tardigrade can shield itself from ultraviolet radiation by fluorescing blue, according to findings published in Biology Letters. Researchers studying the new species happened upon tardigrades' secret when they noticed a tube of tardigrade remains giving off a blue glow in a UV transilluminator.
