Space science feeling pinch from partial government shutdown

A number of space science projects and activities are in limbo due to the partial government shutdown. A federally funded group that oversees telescopes may soon run out of money to keep the facilities open; NASA employees are unable to repair a problem with the Hubble Space Telescope; and presentations at the American Astronomical Society meeting were canceled or modified because scientists from NASA and the National Science Foundation were unable to attend.
