Lions' yawns may be subtle signals that orchestrate synchronization among their prides, a study in Animal Behaviour suggests. Researchers filmed lions over four months and noticed that not only was yawning contagious among the big cats, but it primed them to mirror each other's movements, possibly strengthening social bonds.
