NASA has awarded a $100,000 grant to the University at Buffalo to study how levels of air pollution have changed in Southern California, the Jianghan Plain in China and the Po Valley in Italy due to COVID-19 quarantines. "Using a new data-driven framework that combines satellite and meteorological data, we will take NASA satellite assets one step further to quantify the reduction in emissions and its impact on air quality chemistry," says researcher Kang Sun.
