Adolescent girls with endometriosis had a 5.26 times increased risk of irritable bowel syndrome, compared with those who didn't have endometriosis, according to a study in the journal Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Researchers also found that among those with severe acyclic pelvic pain, those with and without endometriosis had a 12 times and 35.7 times increased IBS risk, respectively, compared with those with mild or no pain.
