The carnivorous pitcher plant is even more carnivorous than previously thought, with a particular taste for spotted salamanders, a study published in Ecology suggests. Over the course of a month and a half, researchers found at least one and often multiple juvenile spotted salamanders in almost 20% of the plants they surveyed at Algonquin Provincial Park in Canada.
