The nation's scientists are waiting to see what sort of funding will be allotted science agencies such as the NIH and the National Science Foundation now that lawmakers have returned from their break and are trying to put together the 2020 spending bill before the Oct. 1 deadline. "The science-advocacy community will be waiting with bated breath to see what the Senate prioritizes and what [Congress] can pass before the deadline," said the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology's Benjamin Krinsky.
