The World Health Organization has updated its Model List of Essential In Vitro Diagnostics, now with 122 test categories, up from 113 last year. The list, which is intended to guide member countries in identifying global priority diseases as well as common diseases, now includes tests for neglected illnesses such as Zika virus infection and dengue.
