The Federal Communications Commission will proceed to rule on whether Section 230 of the Communications Act protects social media companies from regulation after its legal counsel said the agency has the authority to do so, FCC Chairman Ajit Pai said. President Donald Trump has asked the Commerce Department to seek an FCC order to curb those safeguards.
