The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation now has clearance to pursue public-private partnerships to help address a multi-billion-dollar funding shortfall for the state's bridge and roadway maintenance. Approval by the Pennsylvania Public-Private Transportation Partnership Board allows solicitation of proposals to design, build, operate and maintain designated bridges under 20- to 30-year concession agreements.
