Companies of all sizes are having difficulty obtaining loans, but the tightening is hitting small and midsize firms hardest, according to a survey by Pepperdine University and Dun & Bradstreet. The percentage of midsize businesses able to get bank loans decreased to 75% in the third quarter from nearly 90% in Q2, while the percentage declined to 28% in Q3 from 31.6% in Q2 for small businesses.
