Employers often lack written respiratory protection programs, proper fittings for respirators and training on personal protective equipment use in the workplace, according to OSHA. The agency says other common safety violations related to COVID-19 precautions include failing to conduct medical evaluations before workers are fit-tested for respirator use and improper record-keeping for work-related illnesses, injuries and fatalities.
