In late 2015, the FDA announced an expansion of its PFDD initiative, calling on patient organizations to follow its trail and host externally led PFDD meetings modeled on its map. Since then, more than 10 organizations have taken the charge. These meetings exist to increase the patient voice within the regulatory process and to foster collaboration with patient communities. While the FDA is the primary source of information for the PFDD initiative, FasterCures has begun a blog series to provide supplementary resources to foster greater participation and involvement.
