Focus on science, tech to improve public health, world leaders say

Political will and a focus on science and technology can improve worldwide public health, as Rwanda has demonstrated, says Rajiv Shah, president of the Rockefeller Foundation. World Bank President Jim Yong Kim said at the Milken Institute Global Conference that a businesslike approach to philanthropy and meeting social needs will prevent the spread of social unrest. "The biggest asset class that we have is our talent," said FasterCures Executive Director Tanisha Carino, who added that nations view people as assets.
