Precision medicine's value depends on patient, provider perspectives

Precision medicine has great promise, but starting a precision medicine initiative is complex and expensive, says James Weese, vice president of Aurora Cancer Care at Advocate Aurora Health, which launched a program two years ago. The value of any precision medicine initiative cannot be judged by financial effects alone but also depends on institutional, patient and health care provider perspectives on its value, Weese says.
