Researchers newly identified 63 genetic variants associated with prostate cancer and combined them with previously identified variants to create a new test that analyzes more than 150 genetic variants to determine a man's risk for prostate cancer, according to a study in Nature Genetics. "If we can tell from testing DNA how likely it is that a man will develop prostate cancer, the next step is to see if we can use that information to help prevent the disease," study author Rosalind Eeles said in a news release.
