It's been 20 years since the first draft of the human genome was published, spurring new insights into the non-coding portion of the genome and a broader view of biology. Research scientist Alexander Gates and colleagues have combined various data sets to show how the Human Genome Project influenced the pattern of discovery and publishing and catalyzed the genomic revolution.
