Slower passenger growth attributed to lower airfares

Airline passenger volume in September grew 5.5% over the previous year, but that is the lowest year-over-year growth posted in eight months in IATA's monthly Air Passenger Market Analysis. IATA CEO Alexandre de Juniac attributed the slowdown primarily to "reduced boost to demand from lower airfares," though he said uncertainty about trade policies may be a contributing factor.
