The on-time delivery rate from Black Friday to New Year's Eve 2019 was 94.6% for FedEx, versus 97.6% in 2018, and was 96.6% for UPS, down from 98.3% the year before, according to ShipMatrix. Peak season package volume reached 2.75 billion, and ShipMatrix founder Satish Jindel characterized the shippers' performance as good, considering the shorter time between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
