Crews have broken ground on a $2.7 billion project to replace Newark Liberty International Airport's 45-year-old Terminal A. The new Terminal 1 should be fully opened by the end of 2022. "Our New Jersey and New York airports must be 21st-century gateways befitting the importance and stature of the metropolitan area," Port Authority Executive Director Rick Cotton said.
