When the new Williston Basin International Airport opens on Oct. 10, it will be a rare example of a city closing one airport and opening a new one simultaneously. The new $273 million facility was funded through $106 million from the Federal Aviation Administration, $55 million from the state and $112 million from bonds supported by airport revenue.
