There may be a downside for people with a higher IQ, according to a recent study that shows such people have higher rates of mood disorders, environmental allergies and anxiety, compared with the national average. Pitzer College researcher Ruth Karpinski and her colleagues considered survey results from 3,715 members of Mensa, a "high IQ society."
