Digital political ad spend rose dramatically from 2014

Digital is expected to account for 20% of political ad investment in 2018, or nearly $1.8 billion, up more than 25-fold over 2014 spending, per Borrell Associates. Facebook reports that it has generated $354 million from political advertising this year, while Google says it has made $74.7 million since the end of May.
