Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin plans to set aside $455 billion in unspent funds from the Federal Reserve's emergency lending facilities, granted by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act, into the Treasury Department's general fund. Use of the funding would be left to lawmakers' discretion, rather than Mnuchin's successor.
