Rather than focusing on traditional salary and benefits, talk to staff members about their goals and interests to find out which employee benefits would be a good fit, says Evan Bateup, Vista Group's chief people officer. "You will find a lot of what they are after will not cost you a lot of money but will make an enormous difference to how they feel valued," Bateup says.
