US crude oil refining capacity climbed to a record of nearly 19 million barrels per day in 2019, up almost 1% from 2018, according to the Energy Information Administration. The total number of refineries was the same as in 2018, with the largest refiners being Marathon Petroleum, Valero Energy and ExxonMobil.
