A PetroChina refinery in China's Heilongjiang province has completed $651 million in improvements, increasing oil-processing capacity from 6.5 million metric tons per year to 10 million. The Daqing refinery's upgrade included the addition of a catalytic cracker, a fractionation unit and sulfur recovery units, and improvements to hydrotreating equipment and a hydrocracker, among other work.
