Senate sends final opioid crisis legislation for Trump's signature

Senate lawmakers voted 98-1 to approve a legislative package of measures designed to combat the opioid epidemic, sending the package to President Donald Trump for his expected signature. The package includes measures designed to block illegal opioid imports, lift certain restrictions on use of Medicaid funds for inpatient addiction treatment, and remove certain prescribing limits on opioid addiction drug buprenorphine.
