Health Canada will limit use of Bayer's clothianidin and Syngenta's thiamethoxam, two chemicals that have been shown to pose risks to insects that are food for birds and fish. The decision creates an exception for a total ban on the use of the chemicals that was instituted in 2018, as Health Canada says the farmers can take precautions to reduce risks.
