Clariant has teamed up with Renewable Energy Group and ExxonMobil to jointly research the use of biomass-based cellulosic sugar from sources including agricultural waste and residues for biofuel production. The deal builds on previous work during which the companies successfully confirmed that REG's bio-conversion technology can perform a single-step, cellulosic-sugars-to-biodiesel conversion.
