Two underground storage facilities for ethane are under development in Appalachia, laying the groundwork for chemical and plastics companies to invest billions of dollars in West Virginia, Ohio and Pennsylvania, says Appalachia Development Group President and CEO Steven Hedrick. The region's Utica and Marcellus shale reserves could support up to five major chemical projects.
