Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., introduced legislation consisting of three measures intended to lower US drug prices. The bill would tie US drug prices to the median price from Japan, Canada, France, Britain and Germany; permit the Department of Health and Human Services to negotiate prices in Medicare Part D; and allow Americans to purchase cheaper drugs from Canada and other countries.
