More capacity cuts could be on the way at US refineries

S&P Global Platts estimates that nearly 10%, or about 1.69 million barrels per day, of US refining capacity is or will be offline soon as refiners step up rationalization in response to low demand for their products. Some of the idled capacity will never come back online or will be repurposed for renewable diesel production.
