The FDA on Saturday granted emergency use authorization to Johnson & Johnson unit Janssen's single-dose COVID-19 vaccine, making it the third coronavirus vaccine approved for use in the US, with 20 million doses expected to become available by end of the month. "This milestone follows a year of incredible work by our dedicated teams and unprecedented collaboration with health leaders around the world," J&J Chairman and CEO Alex Gorsky said.
