CVR Energy is considering repurposing spare hydrogen capacity and a high-pressure hydrotreater at its 132,000-barrel-per-day Coffeyville, Kan., refinery to produce renewable diesel. This project is contingent on the success of a similar project at CVR's Wynnewood, Okla., facility, where a hydrocracker is being retooled for renewable diesel production and could begin processing by July 2021.
