Proppant supplier US Silica Holdings reported third-quarter earnings of 44 cents per share excluding items, falling short of analyst forecasts of 59 cents per share, as pipeline constraints and reduced well completions in the Permian Basin weakened frac sand demand. The company expects the frac sand market to tighten by 2019's second quarter, boosting prices and margins.
