Researchers at the University of Washington used optical tweezers to assemble nanoscale semiconductor materials within larger structures. "Using this technique in an organic solvent allows us to work with components that would otherwise degrade or corrode on contact with water or air," said Vincent Holmberg, co-author of the study.
