The Environmental Protection Agency is proposing new rules that could reduce ethylene oxide emissions by 116 tons annually and, if approved, would affect 13 major facilities operated by BASF, Shell Chemical, Dow Chemical and other companies in Louisiana. The rule will undergo a 45-day public comment period after it's published in the Federal Register.
