Kenya may lift the import ban it placed on biotech maize in 2012 as more than a million of its citizens face severe food and water shortages because of a long-running drought. Residents would have food security if drought-tolerant varieties were allowed to be planted, says Parliament member Florence Mutua, adding, "We are just wasting time discussing GM technology. We have capacity and brains to deploy the technology."
