Scientists in Japan have created a new bioplastic material from fermented sugarcane pulp that is extremely heat-resistant and could be used for construction materials and car parts. "The material has excellent heat resistance and flame retardance, and it is also lightweight," said team member Yasuo Onishi of the University of Tokyo.
