Antitrust officials with the US Department of Justice voiced their support this week for the Global Music Rights organization in its legal battle against the Radio Music Licensing Committee and called on federal court to reject the RMLC's arguments. A trial is scheduled next year for lawsuits between the two organizations, in which the RMLC accuses GMR of anticompetitive behavior and GMR asserts the RMLC is hurting musical artists by fixing royalty rates.
