Subway sees strong growth in app use

Subway has embraced digital technology, and part of that effort has gone into creating a mobile app that has seen strong user growth despite extremely limited marketing. "We really have not advertised it all intentionally because we needed to collect a baseline of data before we start doing some paid media advertising on other activities," said Carissa Ganelli, the company's chief digital officer.
