Online orders and delivery have accounted for 39% of total restaurant franchise sales in 2020, up from 20% in 2019, according to data from TD Bank's Restaurant Franchise Finance Group. "We expect the shift to off-premise sales to be long lasting, and due to broad consumer acceptance of its added convenience, we believe it will likely become a permanent aspect of many franchises' business models," says TD Bank's Mark Wasilefsky.
