A small, but growing, group of retailers and restaurants see security and efficiency benefits in going cashless, but there's also rising opposition among advocates for the more than 24 million underbanked US households. Most consumers still use cash for smaller transactions and around one-third of all transactions in the US are still made with cash, according to the Federal Reserve.
