A report from the Kaiser Family Foundation and Epic Health Research Network said electronic medical record data show that from March through December 2020, total hospital admissions were 8.5% below predictions because of the COVID-19 pandemic. "Smaller hospitals, public hospitals and rural hospitals are among those most likely to face financial challenges in the wake of revenue loss related to COVID-19," according to the report.
