A study in The Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology found that glucose screening during pregnancy can help identify future cardiovascular risk among women with and without gestational diabetes. Researchers analyzed data for women in database of the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care of Ontario, Canada, and found that each 1 mmol/L increase in one-hour post-challenge glucose concentration was tied to a 13% increase in cardiovascular disease risk.
